Personal friend still charge? What kind of friend is that?
OR rather what kind of a friend are you to him? hmmmm....

Once your ECU/AFC has been tuned, to mess with the settings is at your own risk. What if you damaged your engine due to your "backside itchy"? Are you gonna claim from your "personal friend"?

To charge for a retune is totally acceptable industry practice. Take it as paying for the ointment for your "backside itch".

To be fair, there is no free lunch in this world. Assume if there is, be mindful of the quality. There is no equipment to store all the settings previously set for your car. If you want to re-tune your car, the tuner will need to re-run everything as if tuning a fresh un-tune car. It will not be a 15min or 30 min job, unless it is a hasty job which will not optimum. Now you are asking the tuner to do it for free. Please put yourself in his shoe, will you spend the time to re-tune the car due to owner's mistake or spend the same time tuning for another paying customer's car. You claim that he is your personal friend. For me, I will not want my friend to run a losing business or to take advantage of him. Please don't let your other friends read this post or else you will find that you have fewer friends because your meaning of friendship is ........

Hi Pal, reading your post make me ponder alot. I onli can advised you is to imagine urself running a business and there is a customer who actually ask u to give a free tuning jus because he accidentally reset setting?? will u give it to him?? I believe ur tis post will actually stir up alot of problems?? In fact if u treat him as a personal friends i think u shld not post this question up in the forum. If u think the tuning of the car is good go back to him if not you can always go to another tuner. Remember tis friends are not someone that you can make used of but always treasure them.

i wanna clarify myself.. i did not say i do not wanna pay.. its just that since i am paying or rather he is charging the same as other tuners, why not i try others instead? there might be better(or worst) results. who knows?
i am not asking for opinions. i am just asking where to tune.. thank you!!

friend is friend.. but business is business also.. the most a friend can do is to charge you much lesser on labour..

if ur customer becoems a friend in future, u dont charge him? hehe... otherwise... all ur customer becomes a friend.. u do charity?
