New 1.8 ivtec Edix

Post by kohjohnsg » Sun Jan 04, 2009 9:46 pm

Hello everyone, I am really keen on getting the new refurbished 2007 Edix. But I see that most PIs carry only the 2.0L and 2.0L Luxury Edition.

Does anyone know who carries the 1.8L version? Please let me know?

Thank you.

erm... there is NO 1.8 litre Edix in Singapore market... yet...

it's either 1.7 litres or 2.0 litres...

and there's a Turbo Diesel 2.2 but this one is not imported here...

here's the writeup:

you prolly got your 1.8 litre knowledge from here? but it's for the UK market... not sure if the 1,8 will reach Sgp shores... JDM (Japan Domestic Market) may be only doing the 1.7 and 2.0 litre versions...

Hello, thank you for your reply.

You are right. I am looking for the 1.8 ivtec on the market. Its known as the FRV in the UK, combining the economical 1.8L ivtec engine from the Civic.

According to Wiki:

The 1.7 i-VTEC and 2.0 i-VTEC were replaced in spring 2007 by a new 1.8 i-VTEC from the Civic compact hatchback. At the same time some minor cosmetic changes were made (carbon effect interior, light cluster, and darker front grill).

Its this:

Yup. Most of the PIs are not bringing in the 1.8. This is a pity as I feel that the 1.8 is most value in terms of performance and economy. But anyone who has the lobang to bring in this Edix / FRV pls let me know ok? I am really keen on the FRV with the R18A engine? Thanks.

if no parallel importer is bringing in the 1.8 EDiX and you bring it in yourself, you may have problems with some spare parts. it's not 100% same as in the Civic FD...

I got this feeling becos i own both the ES Civic and the Edix 1.7... not everything is same although it's the same basic engine... some parts are not exactly interchangable so do be aware of this...

The wiki is correct for UK however the JDM edix is only 2.0 now as they discontinued the 1.7 (I think the engine was outdated as it was the D series. The 2.0 is the K series engine same as the new Civic) Also a good point to note the UK model only comes with manual transmission whereas the JDM edix comes only with Auto transmission.
