New JDM Accord (CU2) will be on sale in Japan on 5 Dec 2008.

Only one engine specification is available:
2.4L DOHC iVTEC, 206bhp@7,000rpm, 232Nm@4,300rpm

There're 4 sedan variants though: 24iL, 24TL, 24TL Sports Style and 24E.

I've communicated with Vincent Ng of KM for awhile and received confirmation that KM will not bring in this model.

I guess our only hope is with the PIs now. Question is whether the PIs will bring in the 24TL, 24TL Sports Style and 24E or just the base model 24E?

In my view, the 24TL and 24TL Sports Style will suite most nicely.

quite a few people are having some issues with the jdm accord.. Most common are engine pinging. Honda has yet to address this, so.. Good luck if you are buying from a pi. Pray that they have honda's support.

The CL7/9 needs premium fuel; min RON95+. Any less, u get knocking. Not sure if the new JDM Accord comes equipped with knock sensors to control denotation. The new JDM CTR comes equipped with it; it's rated at RON100 btw. But perfectly ok in SG roads. MY has only RON97 and they're officially imported by Honda MY. I understand the new JDM Accord also requires min RON95+ unlike the Thai-made KM Accord which requires only RON92+.

Equipment count for new JDM Accord. This should be the reference when we purchase from PIs:

ya.. I know. Au version needs 95, people had been using 98 and still cannot stop the pinging. Case escalated to japan, but still unresolved. Good thing is, some cars have it, some dont. So, fingers crossed. But bad luck if one gets a bad one. I can foresee messy disputes between buyers and pi. Best to wait till japan resolve the pinging.

new cu accord lcd screen is different from cl. In fact, the whole dash is different. Some prefer the new dash speedo. i think it is too busy looking. It takes some time to get used to it. There is a cooler box option in the centre arm rest. For people used to the swift cl9, you will be disappointed to know the cu is actually slightly slower. It feels grown up. The eps also numbed the steering.

Anyway, all K-series engine is equipped with Ping sensor. But I am curious as to how come this car is being launched, yet you guys say like that are thousands on Japan's road, with a lot of them saying the engine is pinging?
