Post by Deadkookaburra » Sun Oct 24, 2004 12:05 am

on behalf of Neurosis2, I posted his Dyno chart (at wheel) for your comments.

did the following analysis based on the numbers...pardon me if I m wrong.

__________At Crank ------- power loss ------ At Wheel
Horsepower 126.3 ps -- 16.7% loss to transm -> 105.2 ps
(w/ Obit) 124.6 bhp ---------------------------> 103.8 bhp

Horsepower 110.0 bhp -- 16.7% loss to transm -> 91.6 bhp
(STOCK) (assuming similar %loss)

Horsepowr gained over stock approx 13.3 %

Torque gained- To be posted later

tis gains is of coz after other mods like I/H/E... juz in case people get the wrong idea tat the obit increased 13.3% in bhp all by itself.

well, still quite impressive mod... best thing is tat it improves power and also improves fc. :D

according to jon, his obit is tuned to driveability and the results are as shown...wonder how will the results be if it was tuned to power??

sori, but when u mentioned tuned for driveability, does it mean the orbit piggyback is tuned for better FC and torque VS being tuned for more horses when we want it tuned for power ?

I agree with u. No tuning alone will improve power significantly without hardware mods.

i also wondering why the torque curve drops at 3K+ rpm, but when i look at the dyno graph of a original car, there's also a drop there. This is dynoed on 4th gear, so the bhp and torque doesn't look so impressive... if on 3rd... then numbers shoould be higher...

bro, it really depends on if u r on manual or auto. Manual transimission lost will be lesser, and of coz we make it even lesser by putting in things like crank pulley and stuff...
