Just curious..

Anyone wanna get the Berk Header? Someone here has one right? I read somewhere...

Honda S2000 00-07 HPC Thermal Coated 50mm Exhaust Header

Thermal barrier coated using High Performance Coatings (HPC) Hipercoat 1600+ process on the inside and outside of the header. The Hipercoat process helps maintain high exhaust gas velocity which is key in header design and ultimate power production. One of the few 304 stainless & inside/outside ceramic coated headers in the world. Uses large port 50mm primaries & high flow CAD designed 63.5mm collector (2.5"). Perfect compliment to the Berk Technology 2.5" test pipe. Includes secondary wideband O2 sensor port for fuel tuning. One of the best performing headers for the AP1 & AP2 S2000 at any price.

Berk had done and posted results in S2Ki. Starting with 50mm dia and collector side 63.5mm sounds about right with changes done forward of it like air intake and if you intend, EMS.

Check the Sponsor Group Buy pages. There are 2 threads started since 2006 Aug. Results ranging gain of 4-9hp. Torque wise also gain across the entire range, which is unusual. At the gain/$, it supersede the quality it came with.

But do note, the heatshield most likely unable to stay.

Listed price is USD549.99. Got $50 off for GB up to 5 piece. Shipping via UPS is USD13 to my Oregon addr, then VPOST will ship here. Not sure how much that will be but expect about USD50. Will check Comgateway's shipping.

I will have mine powder coated silver to look stock.

Just to clarify I got the polished ones ($399) + shipping ($100).

Have not tested but read the biggest gain is from removing the cat.

Nothing against jdm brands like toda, mugen, J's etc but I assume its gonna be at least $1.5K and above. Thats the indicative price range so the US brands are about half the price.

And beside headers have been known not to make that much hp on the F20/22C so don't expect the JDM brands to get 20-30hp for that $$$

as for US forums, i really kowtow to the exhaustive technical details they have, S2Ki and CRSX. *bow bow* have always learnt a lot. their detailed postings with installation pics are the highlights!

the strange thing is that from since the CRSX days, US dynoes show "fantastic and comparable to JDM but half the cost" results but locally, even after factoring lowered expectations, still the results are lower than the adjusted expectations.

anyway not debating on which makes the power. urm headers on a NA engine, frankly, i'm only expecting 10-12~ bhp gains at the crank thereabouts.
