SESSION CLOSED - NO MORE NEW REGISTRATIONS!!

Post by DIRT22 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:35 am

Hi all,

Thank you all for your co-operation in making the signing up session a breezy one! As of right now all (with the exception of 3) on the list above have paid and confirmed their slots for the 20th. There are a good mix of small and bigger cars around, with a strong showing of support from the Vios trackkies (4 cars), the SwiftSports (6 cars), a strong stable of Imprezas and Rexes (8 cars), a representation from the Mitsubishis (2 Evos 1 Galant) and a good mix of Hondas as well (GDs, EGs, EKs, FDs, DCs). We will also be welcoming Melvin in his Mazda3 and Sukhvin in his IS200.

EXCITING!!!

The following 3 persons in the list were not able to come down yesterday for the session but I have left you each a slot for the track day. Please confirm with me via SMS at 98339352 BEFORE FRIDAY 19th October 2007 12pm if you will be attending; after this time I will take it that you are unable to make it and I will remove your names from the list and finalise the list, thank you!

1. Tarmac (Anthony) 94232525
2. (Aza) 96306895
3. FaYa (JC) 92316119

At present the only available slots are for these three names above.

I will update here with more information at the soonest opportunity. Any last minute changes will be communicated to all on the confirmed list via mass SMS. Thank you all once again for your co-operation and I hope all are looking forward to a good session on Saturday! :D

Re: SESSION CLOSED - NO MORE NEW REGISTRATIONS!!

Post by DIRT22 » Fri Oct 19, 2007 2:37 am

Hi all,

Here are the updates as promised. First and foremost this event is CLOSED for new registrations. We have the target number of cars we feel would allow the event to be better enjoyed by all, and the only slots available are for these 3 persons listed below:

1. Tarmac (Anthony) 94232525
2. (Aza) 96306895
3. FaYa (JC) 92316119

Since you have put your names up on the original list, if you are able to make it for this event please let me know by 19th October 2007 6pm. You may make payment to us at J-Circuit itself on the 20th but you MUST have confirmed your attendance with me by the time stated, failing which we will deem you as not taking part and you will not be allowed to sign up on Saturday even if you are already there.

Please note that ANY newcomers arriving at J-Circuit on the 20th itself WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to register and/or join to take part in this private track event from 1-4pm.

Cheers!

CONVOY DETAILS

Post by DIRT22 » Fri Oct 19, 2007 2:59 am

Hi all,

The main group will be heading into and out of Pasir Gudang via the Tuas 2nd Link. We feel that this is an easier route (traffic wise) and should be relatively safer than navigating within the central Johor Bahru (crime wise).

The convoy to J-Circuit on Saturday (20th) morning will set off from Petronas station right after the 2nd Link Customs (Malaysian side), at the Gelang Patah R&R off-ramp.

For those of you who do not know the way, I strongly suggest that you either follow friends who do, or marry up with this convoy. Please note that the time-frame for you to be at the Petronas station will be from 9:30am to 10am. This will be enough time for you to pump petrol (if needed) as well as get any foodstuff you might want to get to munch on later. There will be NO REST STOPS from this point to J-Circuit itself so please budget yourself in terms of food and toilet requirements!

The first batch of cars will set off from Petronas at 10am SHARP. There will probably be one of our cars left behind to wait for stragglers or latecomers but please do not count on this as a certainty! It is your own responsibility to meet the stipulated timings!

Please ensure that you have enough value in your cash-card for the Singapore customs exit and entry. As a rule of thumb S$10 is more than enough for both ways. Please also ensure that you have enough Ringgit for the various toll stations along the way. As a rule of thumb RM50 is more than enough for the return journey. In addition please ensure that your car doors are LOCKED at all times while you are on the road, as a matter of precaution.

For those of you with walkie talkies, please ensure you have fresh batteries, and set your frequency to 22-1. Try not to use the walkies for communications unless necessary, this will reduce unwanted confusion within the channel!

ROUTE TO JOHOR CIRCUIT AT PASIR GUDANG
From Petronas station after the 2nd Link Customs, proceed along the North-South Expressway.

Turn left off onto the Pasir Gudang off-ramp, which will bring you on a loop over the NS highway and onto the route towards the Pasir Gudang highway.

After the toll station, keep heading straight through the various townships; please ensure that you keep heading straight, there will be no turns whatsoever until you reach the correct exit.

The exit to look out for will be Kong Kong exit. Taking this off-ramp (an upslope off-ramp) you will quickly reach a controlled junction. DO NOT TURN RIGHT, keep left and filter onwards into the main road.

From this point on keep going straight till you notice signs that point to J-Circuit Pasir Gudang. The entrance to J-Circuit is almost camouflaged so please do not drive too fast. It will be on your left, make the turn in and you will see the main gate to the circuit.

At this point you will be required to make an entry payment at the gate (RM10 per guy, females are usually exempted!). I just wish to add here that PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO VROOM IN WITHOUT PAYING. We will personally escort you back to pay your RM10 if the J-Circuit authorities complain to us! Of course I also have to say that if for whatever reason when you are stopped and not asked to pay, don't act like a deer caught in headlights and as a result hold up the traffic behind!

Cheers!

Hi all!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES UPON ARRIVAL AT J-CIRCUIT

Upon your arrival at J-Circuit, please proceed to the pit area and park your vehicles in the pits. Please leave the first 3 pits closest to the left hand side alone; these will be for those of us in the administrative team. We gotta run around alot so let us be closer to the office lah!!

If the pit doors are closed when we arrive, please form up behind each pit door and wait for further instructions on site. We will get the J-Circuit staff to open the pits, hopefully they will open enough pits for all of us to have 2 cars sharing a pit. If this does not happen, we seek your understanding in co-operating with each other to share pits among either 2-3 cars.

One important point to remember: Only participating cars are allowed to use the sheltered pits; if you have any friends who are driving their own cars and joining as spectators only, please get them to park BEHIND the pit area (behind the small drain at the rear of the pit section, preferably closer to the buildings behind instead of closer to the pits). When you return to the pit area after your free lapping, please try to head back to the same pit as well so as to minimise any traffic congestion or inconvenience to fellow participants.

Once you have parked your cars, please proceed to the MEDIA ROOM for the registration proper. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR RECEIPTS!!! If you do not have your receipts we will put you to the back of the queue since we will have to spend time verifying your identity and payment status, so let's not waste each other's time!

Before we open the track for the event, all of you will also be required to attend the compulsory SAFETY BRIEFING. This will educate you all on the situations and signals to look out for on track, and the proper track behaviour so as to minimise the chances of mishaps occuring.

Newbies or inexperienced participants will be required to join in a 2-lap orientation run. You will be broken into groups of 5 cars to be led by an experienced track driver. During your orientation laps you are NOT ALLOWED to overtake any cars nor are you expected to speed; take this opportunity to get the feel and layout of the track and to identify which turns you will have difficulties with.

The orientation laps for the newbies will precede the track event. This means that while the newbies are out doing their orientation laps the rest of the participants WILL NOT BE ALLOWED on track. Take these 10 minutes or so to prep your cars, take out your barang barang, check your tire pressures etc. Once all the newbies have returned to the pits and have finished their orientation laps we will formally open the track for free running.

Cheers!

Agree, thanks to Eddie and the Choon's Motorworks team! Some cars got battle scars but nothing too serious.

Let's do this again soon!
