It is OK, considering it was meant to last a long time. Forged rims can be much lighter, but very expensive. Next time you balance your wheels if you have forged rims, take a close look at the how circular the rims are, especially if used for a few years.fruitcakepablohoney wrote:So is 10kg considered heavy for the stock rims?

Juz booked my white CTR today from carz Junction,
Been driving luxury rides for past 2 rides, so this is my first performance ride, some questions to ask.
Wat octance you guys pump? i heard 100 required but i think oni platinum is 100, so most you you pump 98, 95?
Engine oil - wat vicosity to use, i haf been using redline 5w30 for my current ride, i know turbo cars need a diff rating, any diff for the CTR?
Maintence - besides the normal stuff like engine oil, oil filter, air filter, aircon filter, anything additionsl i need to pay attention to?
thanks guys,
Cheers,
Crusnik

Caltex platinum is only 98 with extra additives just like Shell V-power. Stick with normal 98 is good enough unless $$ is no problem for you.xiidevil wrote:Juz booked my white CTR today from carz Junction,

Engine oil - 30 or 40 wt oil - 20 too thin, 50 too thick.
Yes. Visible when you spin the wheel on the machine.... this was confirmed by a bro who is in the tyre/rim industry, who had used a few sets of forged rims in the past (he sells forged rims but provided this piece of advice to me).SilveryCivic wrote:meaning not round anymore?Jimbotan wrote:It is OK, considering it was meant to last a long time. Cast aluminium are generally more durable for street use. The good ones are slightly heavier than the good forged rims, but cost about the same
I will keep the stock rims, unless of course something happens to them or I strike Toto. Of course if weight is the top priority, forged rims are probably the way to go and many forged rims look very good.
Now the problem I have is finding a replacement for the RE070 when they get worn. These are damn good tyres, but probably not in the wet.
