Just got the Accord from PI
yes, you are right to say that the workshop will honor under warranty provided the workshop inform you of the change or you get to know honda japan has recalled your model for this pinging problem.James_Low wrote:Hi, currently driving CU2 for 1 month and there is no pinging problem... Anyway, since the car is under warranty, the workshop will have to bear the responsible for any problems with the car.. If there is any special instruction from Japan for the recalling back the car, i believe that the authorise workshop will definitely honor their responsibility.hhong wrote:pulling back meaning you have other cars in mind? just an assumption.
these pinging problems if any, honda will rectify it. i guess you pulled back buying the CU2 is due to PI honouring this problem if ever found in sg?
maybe the CU bros can feedback?
i am not trying to be a wet blanket...caveat emptor...
that is why people always stress to get from good and reliable PI.

I doubt it's a pinging issue. I've read similar reports esp from ozhonda.com. I've heard the same metallic sound under light throttle (below <2k rpm) in my old ES5; depends alot on engine oil as well - the old Castrol SLX 0-30 produces this sound well. Btw, I pump RON 95+ (min req) all the time for my old ES5. My ES5 VTEC engine has NEVER failed in its 5.5 years (mileage 150k) of service.ckng1870 wrote:considering CU2 but something is pulling me back based on some feedback in Aus Accord forum, http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99566 and the press release on the fixes sometime in June/July, http://carsguide.news.com.au/site/news- ... ing_fixed/. I know this happen also in US for the TSX, also feedback in their forum, http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=684180ultaman wrote:Hey guys, i collect my CU2 last month. From what i know. the 1 we are driving is meant for export to auzzie. that y OMV lower. Overall the car is good! Excelent in fact. by the way, i got it from vincar as well. i'm 1 of of the first to drive it in Sin if i'm not wrong. Fuel consumption pretty allright. can clock up to 600km for a full tank, highest hit is 650km.but a full tank cost about $90. i;m pumping 95ron by the way.
Only thing that there a sound at the back . Had that sound on the first day i collected it. Went to service centre to rectify it couple of time, they could not find where its coming from. Tell me sound not cover under warranty. What rubbish, does that mean i buy the sound together with the car?SOund included is it. Guys, maybe once u got ur car, do check when driving over hump or uneven road, there a clock clock sound coming from the right back. if don't have, mean i bad luck. only my car has it.
going back to mbm to do it again next week. gng to leave the car there for a couple of days. they say need time to do a through out check. removing my bumper and everything. Sian
I just wonder so far if any brothers here has enountered any of such problem and whether the problem above is the same ??? any feedback, thanks
Hear the same sound (once in a blue moon) in my CU2 (mileage is almost 4k now). I pump RON 95+ (min req as stated on fuel cap) for my CU2 as well. It's a Honda VTEC engine characteristic in my view.
I start hearing this sound on mine now.. so far it only happens in 2nd gear, around 2500-3000rpm.autoglymer wrote: I doubt it's a pinging issue. I've read similar reports esp from ozhonda.com. I think the "metallic" sound occurs around 2.5k rpm under light throttle in CU2. IMHO, I think it's a Honda VTEC engine characteristic; heard it before even in my old ES5. This is what I extracted from www.ozhonda.com:lingamair wrote:I start hearing this sound on mine now.. so far it only happens in 2nd gear, around 2500-3000rpm.autoglymer wrote: I doubt it's a pinging issue. Further to our phone conversation relating to the operational sound in your Honda Accord Euro, we wish to advise the following.
As you are aware the condition with your vehicle has not been assessed by the dealer as yet and therefore we are unable to confirm whether or not the condition you are experiencing is similar to some isolated reports we have received previously.
These reports are in regard to an engine operational sound, which is linked to fuel quality/specification and the electronic emissions management system, has been confirm to be from a combustion sound taking place after the programmed ignition, namely a “post combustion noiseâ€

Ya man! Its occurs when i start to move off or moving slowly with or without steping on the accelerator. I was wondering is it my suspension that makes the sound. lollingamair wrote:Exactly same, like a metal piece was rattling about.ultaman wrote: Hey Guys, i have similar sound from it as well. The pinging sounds only a while each time and its also sounds like something is loose. Does you guys sound the same?

bros,
Anyone of u went back to PI for verifications? Is the sound irritating or similar to soft wind noise as we cruise on the expressway....cos one of my friend keen to buy this model but now holding back....
IMO, this model design is very nice besides its price tag n power rating at 206bhp....higher than our CP!

For mine, its not really loud. But u get to heard a bit when its quiet. And its make u think what wrong when u r driving. Jus feel uncomfortable. And i realise the pattern for mine. it tends to rattle jus before its changes gear. and only for first 2 gearsweaver87 wrote:bros,

HI showcasing my New Toy.
Hi, Just wanna showcase my new toy with a little mod on the outlook.
As I had that there is a pinging sound from some bros, may I know is the Japan Made or the Aust Made one?
COs I am driving the Japan made one, and it sound fine, no pinging sound just feel that the low end is slow. and the consumption now is 9.5km for 1 Litre. with and without Ramming and comfort drive.
and I tried to drive at 130 km/hr, the car is stable and good.
Comments for this Accord Good.

You redo the leather seat??
Can pm me the place and the damage??
Nice Mugen seats
Nice seats... BTW, whats the logo on the right hand side of your boot?
The pinging seems to be more prevalent in the Australian version, even though all Euro Accords originate from Japan. Maybe they resolved it already with the newer batch. It doesnt affect every vehicle, so see the luck of the draw
