1. Stability
2. front underneath the car (per what i know of from the CP2/3)
3. i do not think so (if you're getting the original) but always good to check with your service advisor for after market ones.

that's a great idea...but how many CP bros/sis in here?
is there a separate folder for CP owners? accord thread seemed to be mostly filled with CL7 owners.
Well, you could start another massive thread solely for CP owners and ask the mods to make it a sticky.
But if so, please remove the CM sticky.
As for a separate folder, it's possible but given the experience with the CM group, a sticky is more than enough...
ok. thanks
Hi all,
This question resurfaces again....

i didn't know that thread existed...bcos i didn't perform a search.
i support Cochran to have our own CP thread. if the civic can have different model thread, i don't see why the accord cannot have it.
it is time for the CP owners to decide. it is after the CP thread. and where is Cochran??

Went for my 2nd test drive of the CP2 during the public holiday yesterday with a couple of my family members. I was close to booking it already. However..... I thought it was my imagination during the 1st test drive, but the 2nd test drive confirms it, and the 2 other drivers with me yesterday also affirms it. The CP2 acceleration is terrible, horrendously lethargic compared with the feisty CM5, the revs really struggle to climb up towards the redline.
Now, given that my SE is really hopeless at explaining anything other than how great value this car is given the projected OMV and what the deal sweeteners are, i gave up asking about the technical details. Is there supposed to be a sports mode where response and acceleration is sharpened up? Or is use of the shift paddles compulsory to eke out maximum acceleration? The car response in 'D' mode where this car will spend 99.99% of the time on the road, really does not feel like 180 horses is on tap.

Am i missing something?

Hi JTIS,
Yes! you're totally right!
That's my initial disappointing feel when I step on the CP2 gas pedal too, the acceleration can't beat CM5. It's mainly due to the CP2 drive-by-wire, that is meant to improve fuel economy. CM5 is using the conventional cable throttle.
Perhaps you should go for CP1, which according to Robert is more responsive?

I am glad that i am not the only one feeling this way. I have also test-driven the CP1 during my 1st test drive. Very nice drive, I like it, very similar to the CM5 in terms of pick-up and handling. But, no offense to the current CP1 owners, but i feel that the SOHC R20 engine is not quite as refined as the K24 when you are accelerating hard, quite coarse sounding at high revs. The CP2 K24 is a little more refined than the CM5, but pity about the blunted acceleration.
Despite what other may think about its looks, i really like the CM5 for being a real workhorse and its punchy acceleration(though i hate the rattling windows). It has served faithfully up multiple trips to Malaysia, requiring nothing but regular servicing. Hence, the CP2 is a natural progression in my mind.
With the disappointment with the CP2 fresh in my mind, i went over to Nissan and test drove the Teana 2.5V6. My god, the smoothness and the power of the V6 blew me away, the 4 cylinder Hondas simply can't compared with the V6 engine smoothness. But, the drive is mindnumbingly boring, i still like the CM5 best.

Two option you could do as I've learn from driving the CP2.
1) Drive with "D" and use paddle shift as you've mentioned which I've been doing.
2) Drive at "S" without touching paddle shift, once you've in "S" and touch your paddle shift you'll have to go back into "D" and back to "S" again. But be prepare that this option will be heavy on the FC.
