A bit underwhelmed by the teaser video and these pixs -- looks more like an evolutionary design from current CL7 look - headlamps and exhaust cutout in particular.

Instrument dials looks like Merc's with the info display right inside the dials - needle runs along the circumference...

Ya, and the car price still high for CP1!!

Therefore, might go for Camry, coz my ES5 can't wait till Accord price dropped :(

Any comment for Camry 2.0 ?

Camry 2L?

Post by junning » Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi urbanx,

If you're going for all the standard features at the expense of drive feel & road holding Camry 2L is ok, otherwise am afraid you might be disappointed like me some how.

Try driving the Camry 2L & Accord CM back to back & you can tell the difference.

With road tax coming down, maybe you should take our Senior Correspondent advice to get a more powerful higher c.c. car and go for CP2?

The new M6 seems interesting, is it one of your candidates? http://www.shc-forum.com/viewtopic.php? ... 3&start=30

Hi Junning,

So CM or Camry is better ?

if go for CP2, how much is road tax, when it will deduce the road tax ? and how much is new road tax for ?

Hi urbanx,

Had thought highly of the new Camry previously, until I drove one the other day.

15% Road tax reduction will only come into effect only from 1st July 2008.
Current 6-Monthly Road Tax Formulae: [$475 + $0.75(EC-1,600)] x 0.92
New 6-Monthly Road Tax Formulae: [$475 + $0.75(EC-1,600)] x 0.782
http://app.lta.gov.sg/corp_press_content.asp?start=1880

In short Current VS New 6 Months Road Tax:
1,997 CP1: $710.93 vs $604.29, save $106.64
2,354 CP2: $957.26 vs $813.67, save $143.59
3,471 CP3: $1,727.99 vs $1,468.79, save $259.19
