I already bought a oil catch tank ( 2 outlet ) last nite from a bro "clarkwan".
A mini size one. Not the usual cusco size as I find that one too big.


So i still need to buy a additional Y joint, additional hose, hose clip,
Anything else to make it a 3 outlet ?

Pls guide on the installation on the 19th Mar DIY day.

I think the terms shld be Aluminium Flexible Ducting (soft type, not for cooking purpose )
it cost about $3.50 per, with minimum quantity of about 10 metre.

anyway, the reviews on it aren't fantastic as the Corrugated Tube causes turbulence in the intake, suggests we use PVC PIPING which is smooth on the inside as well as out

Aluminium tubing will be good for rigid installation, means after install, it is not subject to any severe jerking movement(axial or lateral offset). this is good when you use it to just to direct air from outside (eg.bumper) to engine bay, but not connect direct to intake outlet, coz the engine will rock when u rev it. this will damage the tubing.

On connection direct to intake , it is better to use a flexible tubing that have a spring in it's construction, so it will return to it original shape when it is subjected to movements. I somehow do not recommend PVC for this application as PVC can not take hight temp. Suggest you call Weng Hock Hardwares and check what type of flexible hose they have.

the turbulence from the tubing is negligible unless you're running it all the way to the throttle body.. in any case if you're not even making close to 200hp.. turbulence in the air intake is the least of your worries that's why cyclones/intake swirl devices etc are all so useless

PVC starts to break down >80degC and PVC itself has very poor surface stability.. and we are living in a hot country.. not the US.. i thought about it before.. but dumped the idea

The oil catch tank i bought came with 1/2 inch dia hose.
I searched thru some hardware shops but unable to find as most normal shops only carry water pipe size ( slightly bigger )

Unable to get brass fittings - T joint for this 1/2 inch dia.

Can you help advise where to buy so i can prepare all materials ahead for the 19th.

did you call Able Hydraulic? if you didn't you another one should be whacked on the head should have 1/2" fittings/hoses, if they don't have they'll point to you to someone who has.. give them a call.. i've posted the location/contact many times..

anyway you need to think twice about venting both the PCV and the breather valve coz you might have idling issues.. too me a few weeks to adjust my idling speed.. if you're prepared to work through the issues then i guess we can attempt it

Pete, i vented my PCV and breather into the tank w no idle problem. The only observation is higher ideling from cold start, but once it warms, it normalised. No problem.

If anyone wants to do that, pls get some thing to block out the inlet to IM. If you have those momo knobs, you should have some spare rubber bung, i used that with a 1/4" hose clip. No sweat.

Lets try both vent first. I am prepare to walk thru those idling issues if it really surfaced!
