Problem with new Accord

Post by josephkhor » Wed Dec 03, 2008 11:13 am

Hi Accordian,

I am Joseph, new to this forum, so i don't know whether i posted my problem here correctly or not.
I bought the new Accord back in May '08, since then till now i have been sending my Accord to Kah Motor for complaint twice because when i turn the steering of my car to park my car when reverse parking, there is always a huge vibration (the vibration just like the vibration on your phone) on the steering, but the mechanic there can't find the problem when they tested on my car, they can only felt a very mild vibration, at the same time they also tested on newly to-be delivered to customers' Accord, but also the same, just a mild one and not like what i am facing now, so until now i still have the same problem on my car.
So, Do any of Accordians who drive new Accord also facing the same problem like mine but can't solve or already solve, please let me know. Thank you.

Hope you all have a great day.

Cheers,
Joseph

This problem could be a few reasons, so you may have to try them out :

As far as I read, reverse in full lock steering, strong vibrations?

1. Check your wheels alignment and I suspect if you had a positive camber for front wheels (usually stock Honda is with negative camber), this problem may go away. This is due to geometry alignment.

2. Could be your power steering full lock issue ( is this eletrical power steering or hydraulic), If Hydraulic, could be a valve issue.

3. Base question to you if the vibration is strong in HDB type of carparks where the surface is more smooth concrete type or happens all the time?

4. if there is any chance to increase your front tyres width to a wider tyre and u still have this problem, then it is not the geometry alignment issue. U can test this out, since the accord is long wheel base and broad.

So far, these are just pointers, cannot affirm without seeing the problem.

Thank you for your attention.
The Steering is Hydraulic Power.
This happened in anywhere not only in HDB carpark, whenever i reserve my car, just sometime strong vibration or mild one, but vibration happened always.

Try 1, 2 & 4 above. Easiest is change a temporary set of wider tyres by swapping with someone and see if this still happens. If problem persists, maybe KM will check the hydraulic system. Last resort, the front camber to tilt outwards just a little 0,5 degrees... get them to check the rack steering too.

Just thought maybe u can reduce the front tyre pressure down and see if this still happens.

Good luck and do keep us posted. I don't think it is the drive shaft at all, since car so new....

Hmm, this is new to me. Had my CP for 3 months now. Will observe mine to see if there is similar prob. Sometimes, we are not aware if there is a minor vibration becos we thought it is the road condition until someone pointed it out.

Thx for the info.

Bros,

If you are going to Leng Kee for servicing, please look for Michael and mention my name, Brian.

He is one of the better Service Advisor who goes all out to help you settle your problems.

Basically my CP "vibrates" all the time  8)

Owned the CP for 2 months liao. So far, no vibrations from the areas pointed out above (Touchwood).

Only slight vibrations from the engine when the compressor cuts in. :?

basically, CP2 n 3 should not have too much of the vibration (from engine) esp. CP3 as the engine mounting has electronics component etc etc per the Kah SE explanation.

only CP1 will have slightly more vibrations...

talking abt this, will install blue/purple Raizin help?

hi bro hhong,

r u refering to Pivot brand for Raizin? Heard the blue color has been changed to black color...no more blue. And beware of fake one!

Bro weaver, I think Bro hhong is refering to the pivot voltage stabilizer. The purple raizin is an improved version of the blue raizin while the black raizin is meant for sound(audio). All 3 are still being sold in shops. Cheers!

Thanks for all the reply and suggestion.
Actually the problem i am facing is not vibrate while drive, the vibration happened mostly when i reversing to park my car, and when i turn the steering, here comes the vibration, either strong or mild.

Bro hhong I don't know whether it can remove the vibrations but you can take it from my ride to try to see if it work before deciding to buy. Cheers!
