Advice on increasing fuel consumption
Hi, i just took over a 2.5yrs old civic 1.6 (2016 model)
Already sent to KM for servicing, but still find that the fuel consumption is rather high. The dashboard is always showing 10.1 l/Km. Once in a rare occasion, it goes to 9.8 l/km. I believe many are getting 8 l/km or even better. My driving style is quite gentle, i never press down accelerator full. Driving is abt 60% highway to work, other than that i dont really use my car much. Pls advice or share with me your experience.
Thanks!

Re: Advice on increasing fuel consumption
Have u try resetting trip meter so that it reflects yr driving style? You can google the rest from the internet. Did the previous owner upsize his rim?

Re: Advice on increasing fuel consumption
Do you mean 10.1l per 100 km?
Because 10.1l per km is basically like a leak in the fuel tank.

Re: Advice on increasing fuel consumption
yea the consumption seems high..always stays at 10.1 litre/100km on the dashboard. What's yours usually?
Re: Advice on increasing fuel consumption
10.1 l/100km equates to about 10km/l. I think it is acceptable but don't compare to those hybrid or smaller cc cars.
I am only getting about 3.8km/l and 4.8km/l respectively for both my cars, yours already very good liao!
Fuel consumption depends alot on your driving style and highway vs city.
Have you check your tire pressure? Tire pressure if is not correct will affect it too.

Thank Pal, i feel better now knowing that this is the norm.
I just reset the trip meter also to see how it goes.
Im keeping my tyre pressure to be abt 230 for 16 inch rims.

Use the manufacturer's recommended pressure.thunderbolt wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 12:40 pmThank Pal, i feel better now knowing that this is the norm.
