Odometer verification

Hi,

My colleague is going to buy a 6.5 year old CRV but was told by the salesman that the car has done significantly more mileage than the 80K shown on the odometer. How can my colleague verify the odometer reading? For example, is there a workshop that can measure the engine compression ratios and from that tell roughly how much distance the car has done?

Go to the local garage, the repairman will get you a odometer correction tool to detect the actual mileage and enter the correct mileage.
