MR_aL wrote:Hi sorry to hijack your thread. I'm not an s2k owner but I need some advice on soft top maintenance. I'm driving a honda beat and my current top is abt 7yrs old, changed by the previous owner. Whenever it rains heavily, water will seep through the rubber trimmings into the side of the windows. Wonder if any bros here encountered the same issue?
change all the rubber seal...there is no other way.rubber harden over the years..
Any workshops to recommend and what's the damage? Thanks for the swift reply!
have you tried applying the shinetsu grease to your rubber seal? it works for most of our ride when the rubber starts to shrink or harden over time.

ps, is your beat the blue one?

Nope I haven't done anything to the soft top yet. Bought this anti UV car cover from tesco as a temporary measure. so can I just buy this shinetsu grease from local stores or must I order online.. Recalled from the previous posts that it must be ordered from the states? yes I'm currently driving the blue one.. Do u happen to know the previous owner?

Guys, need some help here. Noticed soft top has a tear near the roof latching mechanism.

Don't know if someone tried to cut my roof, or it was cut by the mechanism itself.

The cut is about 1.5cm long. Any chance of a repair? Or must i change a new top?

think its created by the latches, thru rubbing, but if its a cut then someone might be getting fresh wif your ride, the soft top could be patched from the inside or outside if you like but its just a temp fix.

Anyone can advise where to go to repair soft top? E.g patching small tears?
New S2K owner so a bit paranoid of tree branches and boys with pen knives.
Thanks

303 cannot get at Autobacs. I remember going to somewhere at Kallang industrial estate to get it. Can't remember the address. Its definitely there, if the company still alive. That was nearly 3 over years ago.

I did my patch there too. The boss not bad and quite friendly. Definitely will go back, if I need to change my top some day.
