Garage where you can work on your own car?

Post by dmclaude » Sun Mar 24, 2013 9:56 am

Guys,

Anyone know of any good mechanic who will let you work on your own car? I need to do an engine overhaul and want to learn more about it by working on it myself (but need a mechanic close by in case I massively screw it up :). Also need the tools like engine hoist and all that..

Any suggestions from anyone?

Tony

Hey tony. We share same interest! Hahaha was thinking hard and ways to diy rebuild engine. Only issue is hoist and no garage to keep the engine. Cams n forge piston was mybideal upgrade for engine.

well, I do most of my repair work in my basement carpark. However, I am still hunting for a cheap hoist to buy locally.
Pls dont ask me for wkshop, as I know none...I only know it is safer and faster to fix cars on my own.

really? but talk only, when come to action ...I don't know how many is/are willing to chip in. Diff people diff level of what they think is DIY...some think, putting on a cable-tie is DIY...To me DIY is as simple as stripping down the engine.
