OWS engine oil - 5W40.

Hi bros,

Any1 use the above engine oil b4 for servicing?

Please advise.

Used it on my last servicing.. Feels smooth for the first few hundred kilometres but gets rough after that.. Slightly similar to Torco SR-1..

Have used Mobil 1 and currently using Torco SR-5 with are far superior in feeling..

P.S- All based on my butt feeling only...

N shall keep a lookout after afew hundreds km'...

*so normally 5w40 can last hw long?
10k or 20k or even 30k den servicing?

If mineral, advice change at 5k, if semi change at 7k & of fully change at 10k...

my car used the 5W30 for one servicing and the engine oil disappear before the next oil change. Although not the same grade but I would like to share my thoughts.

My car was 3 years old then when I went to this workshop at the north side. I will not mention area also nor the name.

They were using this brand and the mechanic recommended 5W30.

At about 8500km into the oil change. I realized my Vtec do not kick in. I went to many workshop to rectify the problem, asked many people.

One workshop even tell me that the fuel filter is jammed. I also change the fuel filter but still same. Till i went to one workshop in Ubi. When I told them the symptom of no vtec, straight away he checked the oil dip stick. The engine oil level was not even registered on the stick at all.

From then on, no more of this brand of oil for me. I will stick back to Mobil 1
