Overhauling DC5 engine advice

Post by Invazn » Wed May 18, 2011 1:25 pm

Hi Bros,

I am considering changing my DC5's engine to something else with more power.

Heard from some friends that some people change to the accord 2.4L one without additional mods and that the engine looks very similar to k20 ones so inspection can pass? (of cuz must do something to engine chassis no.)

Would appreciate any advice on what to get and also on the issue of illegality (whether its common people actually do this).

Also, sorry if this topic is not allowed, mods can go ahead and delete the post.

Thanks in advance.

K24 lower block is the cheapest mod you can do.
The block sits 20mm higher than the K20 stock. however, you will require a CRV side engine mount for it to clear the bonnet.

LTA won't be able to see the lower block if you know what to do.
You get heaps more torque. :)
