Hi Bros,
Need your recommendation on engine oils.
Auto ES 05, currently abt 110K+ millage, average daily usage 80-100KM & drinks Esso Fuels.
Ride feels sluggish and slow to accelerate.
Whats the best engine oil to use?
OW-40, 5W-30 or etc?
Thanks!

sluggish can mean many things... usually a general service to change engine oil, transmission oil (atf), and spark plugs + oil filter should suffice.
you could also look into cleaning/renewing your air intake filters and correcting your tyre pressure to 230 kpA and alignment, wheel balance etc.
you can use either choice of engine oils, 40 for better protection, 30 for better fuel economy.
or even 20 if your gaskets are in good condition and not leaking...

Thanks for the head up MCDS!
Today check dip stick, oil only on first dot.
Air intake just change after-market brand about 1 month back.
Anyway, only left with engine oil to buy.
If you or other brothers would recommend/feedback the engine oil brands you are using?
Does Mobil 1 OW-40 (Gold) good? Or better Motul, HKS.
See stocklist, ROAR Oil, but 300+ is abit too much, rite?
Inquire from few shops and common answer is "own preference".
Yup, a newbie here, first car.
So need help from brothers here.
Thanks

really depends on what you intend to do with your ride and how hard you wanna drive it.
Most engine oils are great up to 7,000km... after that it gets 'noisy' or start to deteriorate in performance due to buildup at a point where your oil filter can't handle any more...
clever people just change the oil filter at 5,000km and the performance is back after a short run...
however, these days manufacturers also smart - you cannot change the oil filter without spilling out a lot of the engine oil so... you decide how you wanna deal with this.
daily drive with lots of short stops need better oil because the wear and tear is a lot more than just a long drive journey daily... so you decide what you want...
Racing oil is exactly for that... RACING... i.e. you change it out after each race... so dun bother about 'protection' for a 10,000 km run...
Daily drives use daily drive oils - Shell Helix Ultra - good for 7k, original Honda (Indemitsu) fully synthetic oil - good for 7k also, Mobil 1 good for a bit more... 8-10k depending on gold or just 1. Indemitsu got a few grades for fully syn... some up to 9k before it starts signalling you to prepare to change oil
anyway its up to you... really. singapore uses the 10K benchmark, mostly on NORMAL drives, there is really NO PROBLEM.
but if you want to drive spiritedly and cheong a lot, by 7k you will feel the oil not doing its best le...
since changing so regularly, just get the most economical fully synthetic oil will do.
Check the groupon and other such sales - sometimes got good deal on oil change...
