Tensioner bolt snaps within a week everytime it is changed..

Post by sianzguy » Wed Aug 24, 2011 8:03 pm

Hi, I really need help as i do not know what else I can do.

My car is an '06 Honda Civic 1.8 and i just got it 2nd hand in May. As of date after i gotten the car, it has already enter the workshop at least 5 times.

3 times the bolt snapped within one and a half mths. And even after changing the tensioner and the alternator belt the week before, the tensioner broke within 4 days. A new tensioner was replaced and the bolt snapped again yesterday evening according to the mechanic.

Is there anyone that can help me and tell me what I can to so that this problem won't keep on occuring? I am really giving up hope looking at this situation but yet I can't sell it as it was just purchased. Pls HELP!! Thanks a lot!!
