Vtec does not engage (CL7R)

hey fellow bros, anyone has any idea why my vtec doesn't seem to be engaging ? rpm is able to go up to 8.5k+- but does not seem to have the vtec pull.

any experts in this field that i should visit to seek and get some advise,opinions or check ? pls help!

sometimes the filter @ vtec selenoid got clogged from dirty engine oil or the use of engine flush oil. all u have to do just open it behind the vtec selenoid & clean it.

hmm from what i know, the ex owner drives very safely. does not usully rev or engage vtec. in his 3yrs+ ownership, vtec engaged less then 20 times. went to a shop he told me vtec solenoid could be spoilt already. anyone knows if it is really spoilt, how much is the replacement ? any workshop that can give me better opinion?

Have you try Pipercross air intake?
