Anyone gone through LTA inspection yet?
Anyone gone through LTA inspection yet?
Hey All
Just want to send a feeler out if anyone has sent their XRD for inspection so far. As you know the inspection industry is clamping down due to corruption found between workshops and the inspectors.
Appreciate if those of you who have gone through can share your experience so far regarding which inspection centers and what mods they catch if any. Hopefully the rest of us can prepare.
I still have 1 year + to go before my inspection. I'm hoping that I can enjoy my mods for that much time or longer.

I didn't manage to go through inspection with my car but I was told they are indeed clamping down on these and very stringent in their tests.
Things in particular to take note:
1) Window film
2) Number plates
3) exhaust
4) Exhaust tips (make sure got enough allowance between the box and tip
if you cut your tail pipe.
5) aftermarket HID lights (though colour is not so crucial)
6) wheel, bodykit and sidestep shouldn't protrude out too much
7) No offroad wheels are allowed
All the best.

Snowman was right, went for mine yesterday. No issues with my raised xrd, No mention abt the ATs and aftermarket sidestep, both slightly protrude out abt. an inch. Also no issues with the aftermarket fog lamp i installed at the bumper as long as it is covered (I temporarily covered it with socks...heheh). They kept on looking at the lights which i installed at my roof rack, but the lights are covered too, so not a problem. They went few rounds around my car inspect the engine (mine stock), drove my car into the inspection pit. After the all pass signal, one of the uncle walk towards me, i thought i fail leow, but he ask me go and change my front number plate, the paintwork is peeling off. I told him i will change at once. He then print out the certificate, PASS! the feeling is like passing driving test..snowmanyee wrote:I didn't manage to go through inspection with my car but I was told they are indeed clamping down on these and very stringent in their tests.

Just an advice, be polite and friendly with those inspectors and choose inspection centre wisely, some inspection centre are pain in the ass, they will fail you even for minor mod.
Inspection pass
Thanks Bad Data. Good to know that some of the things like the AT tires are no issue. Can let us know which inspection center you went to?

I was once asked to pull over to road shoulder by LTA officer on bike during morning peak hour. The reason was that i had my aftermarket daylight on. No summon was issued at that time. Three weeks later i received a letter from LTA stating that it is an offence to install aftermarket light without approval from LTA. I was let off with a warning. The moral of the story is if you happened to see TP or LTA prowling on road OFF THE DAMN DAYLIGHT!limyw wrote:does anyone know if LED daylight running lights will be failed or passed by LTA?
Congrats! coolcinta, welcome to 'Club of Crossroaders Who Got Through LTA Inspection With a Pass'.coolcinta wrote:Did mine yesterday, used Bad Data idea and cover my foglight with black socks. Was worried abt my tyre as protruding abit - tyre size 235/50/17' and sidestep but lucky me completed the inspection in less than 15 mins. Done inspection at Bukit Batok Viacom

Passed mine
I've managed to pass my inspection with the exception of my tinting (rear fail by 3 points)
But I tore off the rear tinting film in their presence and was released with a pass.
Different strokes for different folks.
