CP stock battery vs market battery

Post by weaver87 » Sun May 23, 2010 12:01 pm

Yo,

here's some info gathered for those considering changing their battery:

CP stock battery:

1)Small size battery at 45Ah, if replace at KM, I think they give you Yuasa brand.

Brands of batteries available in the market:

1) Yuasa (range of $95 or >)

2) Ameron (range of $125 or >)

3) Tenex ( range of $195 or >)

4) Hoppecke (range of $165 or >)

5) Varta (range of $170 or >)

There are many more other brands but the above are the more common ones and price does differs from shops to shops....most ex is Autobac....as a guide, Varta (blue) 60Ah will cost $170 nett. It comes with 1 yr warranty and 24 hrs free towing within the period of warranty.

Fyi, CP cars can be upgraded to 60Ah as the space allocated was actually meant for that size. Honda put in 45Ah to save cost during the manufacturing....

For those who had added amps and ICE, its more adviseable to upgrade to 60Ah.

Cheers!
