Should I change battery?

Hi all. I've been getting occasional crank start problem for my ES5. It just crank once and then nothing happens even if i keep key at start position. I had to release and start again and most of the time it can start. The thing is, I dont know what's the life of this battery as i bought the car 2nd hand. However, the indicator on the battery shows green which is good according to the label. What could be wrong? Where can i get good yet reasonably priced battery for this car. Contemplating to get a reasonably good battery to fit the original tray as Im using it to drive 4 speakers, a 1400W amp and an active sub.

when you crank, do take note of the fuel gauge. If it dips (i.e. from F it moved towards E), it could be a sign of a weak battery.

i have similar issues for cranking.

the workshop replaced my fuel pump regulator and everything is okay now. my battery was showing healthy signs too.

For your model ES5 to solve this problem,
1st, Check your battery condition.
2nd, remove the starter motor to service.
finally is to replace the fuel pressure regulator.

I have the same problem with my ES5. Battery is healthy, which means it could be the fuel regulator. Any bro can advise whether I should bring in to Honda to check for error codes (to confirm it's the fuel pump regulator's fault)?

hi top!

i have recently installed a cheap device bought from someone in other forum. this device was great! it tells me my battery remaning life, cranking condition and wehter the alternator is charging the battery . I read their brochure that below 10% of battery life it will give out alram to warn me to change a new batt. i think this is a great product!

any of u using this also?

common problem for ES5.
how long u never change batt?
can go check for batt maintenance and get it replace

battery changed in June 08...

time to change battery??

but the indicator say the battery is ok lei.. =/

normally i can start with 1 crank or 2 cranks...

first, you should switch off everything in your car before you off the engine for the night. leaving your ICE in ON mode will drain the battery when trying to start... you also din mention having a capacitor in your 1,400W system. time to install a suitable sized one to store some reserve power for your ICE which wud reduce the strain on your battery itself.

you can also check out your starter motor as suggested by other contributers to this thread, and also the connectors to your battery. make sure not too many things connected to your battery leads, the other stuff shud be connected elsewhere to draw power, not direct from your battery.

heavy ICE users shud consider a second battery and a more efficient alternater to charge the batts when car is running...

come for meetup if you are ES5 driver. we got a few ICE members who can share lots with you at the meetup

When i was running ICE.. I added a capacitor so that my car batt dun screw up as recommended by my installer..

But dunno how true or maybe i kena Cai Tao
