big braking problem on FD1A

Post by alvin82sg » Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:20 pm

hi bro,

Recently i test drive my fren fd and it seem like a little tap on the brake already very eat liao. for mine compare to his like haven vs hell.

i need to depress almost half then have the braking effect. further more after brake, i still can further depress the brake inner.

got it check by a few workshop, all said normal. abs also got kick in. but how come the huge difference. both my fren and mine is stock. brake pad still got at least 50%. brake fluid just change.

Any bro can comment on this. appreciate any comment.

Thanks

even your fingers not the same length not to mention your friends'

every car wear not equal, if 50% used - its gone liao
my stock brake pad was replaced the second day of ownership
its too expensive and lousy braking power

i've replaced with least expensive but more performance
replaced the stock rubber brake hose with stainless steel brake hose
really cut down on the braking distance

btw the brake line was it adjusted before?

Not to give advice but to share....after my last servicing which i changed new brake fluid(bleeding all done properly), felt that I had to depress the brake pedal more before I can feel the "bite"....other than this, like you, the brakes are working fine.
