Problem During Overtaking

Hello.. I have a friend driving a Subaru Impreza 4 speed auto then he told me whenever he wants to overtake people during cruising speed (4th gear), he stepped on the accelerator then his gear will auto downshift. I wonder if all 4 speed auto cars are like this? Anyone can help my friend solve his problem and my question?

yah is normal for auto car. when u floor the fuel it will auto down gear. :lol:
