Watermarks on windscreen/windows.

Post by DeepBlue77 » Wed Jun 17, 2009 8:13 am

Hi bros,

Anyone here knows (or has experience of) how to get rid of watermarks on the glass windscreen and windows?

It's quite unsightly.

Thanks :)

Get glass polish for cars from supermart or autobacs. Don't try other remedy like Mama-Lemon, Jiff, etc...

You don't want to solve a problem and introduce another ie. squeaky/juddery wiper sweeps...

You are right about it. Other solutions only cover up not remove it.

Hi bro,

Can you ask the groomer what he use on your windscreen? From there, I try to see what I can help.

Do a good claying on the window, if the condition improve, it should be some products hindering the wiper.

Any particular glass polish to recommend other then the Autoglym one?

My home carpark is open air and all previous cars always end up with the irritating/unsightly water streak marks on all windows. Decided to find a solution to this, glass cleaners don't work so looking at glass polishers.

Just wash the window first and gently do a thorough claying job. Glass cleaner is to do a fast job on oil film kind of dirt. Clay has very mild abrasive to remove tougher and embedded stain, just go gentle on it. If it still doesn't work, you need stronger abrasive but it is recommended to be used with machinery. Some try soft99 glass compound and have gd result, maybe u want to consider it.

Ok thanks... think will just try the soft99 one. Claying 8 pieces of glass is no joke... somemore the windscreen so big, I can't even reach the middle of the windscreen properly to spend a period of time to clay thoroughly. :)
