just to check market -

have any of u guys repaired a laptop in sim lim reecntly?
just wondering how much u guys are paying for repairs.
if u wanna share just tell me the prob and the price u paid for it.
i wanna see the market rates sim lim doing for ppls.

Too expensive. Once ask to change the keyboard from UK to US and was quoted SGD99 (incl parts). But I got the item on ebay at abt SGD16 and replaced myself. Save a shit-load of $$$.

depending on the brand, you can sometimes get the parts and replace yourself. I got the Dell cuz the service material are on their website. Customer Service not important.

To date, have replaced LCD and keyboard as improvement rather than repairs. Now thinking of adding onboard bluetooth to an old model but alternative may be cheaper. A lot of money saved when do yourself.

true true. much cheaper. the parts are priced like dat becoz of market i guess. i m a tech in one of the shops.
