HID question
HID question
Hi all,
Recently got a knock on my front, mechanic tell me my HID "leg" all broken, better change. (Mine is HID batch, pass inspection one)
So some questions:
1) Mechanic tell me now no more such HID from Honda, so can I buy and fit 3rd party HIDs? Will I pass inspection?
2) Normally how much does it cost for a set of HID
And yes, my HID is adjusted to beam onto the road.

go back to KM to ask. They are committed to keep stock for your model.
Outside mechanic will tell you dun have becos it's better to get you to change whole set...
let KM say no first and then advise you how to go about doing it - maybe they can recertify your new aftermarket set...
All guessing here - get the facts from KM's mouth...

when you say mounting assembly did you ask for the HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY? or just the light mounting bracket (not sure if that can be individually changed out of the main assembly)
if whole thing including the signal light, main headlight and highbeam pods plus the external shell, yes it will cost THAT much per side from KM - the good thing being it's guaranteed not to leak and if it does, you get to change it foc within the warranty period...
if you are just asking for a replacement for the HID light connector that is screw/twist-lock onto the lights assembly, probably KM misunderstood your request.
that is one mainreason you BRING YOUR CAR THERE TO HAVE A TECH LOOK AT IT. so both parties can be on the same page when talking change parts - which part???
plus - you have not posted a pic here to show us what you meant either so we are ALL GUESSING what needed to be changed...
$500 will definitey fix whatever it is you described confirmed... and you get both sides converted back to normal bulb mounting which the bulbs are easier to replace...
outside HID will cost only $200+ but not sure if got those shielding and adjusted to point and not blind others or not...
your money, your options, your choice.

I also dunno what is broken with my HID, will be getting it back from the workshop. If not, like you say, just guessing
Currently i am on the original normal lights.. see the yellow color light very sian. My wife can live with it.. but me cannot..
Thanks MaKH. I think i'll keep my fog as yellow. I find that it penetrates better (especially during night/dawn driving in m'asia when its misty)
