Actually the reason why I want a SS is because I'm not used to a car that has no exhaust pipe poking out from the back...

Alas, there's always a cheaper solution to my problem... weld weld weld :lol:

dun touch your stock muffler!!!!! welding wud make it illegal.

cheeper on the long run to buy an 'illegal but quiet' muffler and weld on the exhaust sticking out... caught, just pay fine and change back stock for inspection.

if stock was welded, u have to find another stock that is not modified... may cost big you to get it...

Hey bro just to share, the official *ahem* bs....

Code: Select all

We have no objection to the fitting of exhaust tail pipe attachment (by way of welding or screwed on) over the original exhaust pipe outlet after the rear muffler, so long as it does not adversely affect the safe operation and emission characteristics of the vehicle. The tail pipe attachment should not be welded directly to the silencer/muffler. You may also wish to note the following points when fitting exhaust tail pipe attachment:

a)   the exhaust pipe outlet is installed with sound engineering practice;

b)   the exhaust pipe outlet must be adequately supported;

c)   there are no modification to the other parts of the exhaust, unless approved by LTA;

d)   the exhaust pipe does not protrude longitudinally or laterally from the vehicle;

e) the exhaust pipe outlet should not have any sharp edges and be fitted at the original exhaust pipe position at rear of the vehicle; and

f) the vehicle continues to comply with the applicable noise and exhaust emission standards set by the NEA.
Hehehe. :lol:
