Honda jazz Gd Tyres profile
A big hello to all Honda driver out there
I have this issue circulating in my head, my current ride tyres are about time for replacement. I am thinking of downgrading my tyre profile from 195/55R15 to 185/55R15.
How will that impact me on my daily ride?
Came across this shop chen Jin trading from forum, it provide free unlimited tyre rotation as long as tyre are purchase from them. Any comment on their service? They are located near to Bartley cross junction with the big blue sign board goodyear tyre
Thank for sharing

195/55/15
195---width of the tyre(the part touching the ground)
55-----thickness(height)of the tyre, the part from the rim to the rubber on the ground where u can see all the readings on the tyre, 195/55/15/threadwear etc etc..
15-----size of the rim for it..
changing from 195 to 185 will not affect the reading on ur speedo..
unless u change from 55 to 50 etc etc depending on ur stock size..
hope this helps..

As in if u use a 195 tyre on a 6.5'' width rim or 205 tyre on the same rim..
Most uses 195 tyres on a 6.5'' and 205 tyres on a 7'' rim..
The different won't be as much as using 185 n 195 tyres..

I know there's a website of calculating the rim n tyre profile but I have forgotten the link, maybe some other gurus here can share the link..

For info only. Not all profile 50 are exactly 50mm. Not all 195 tyres are exactly 195mm. Even a measuring tape can tell. If insist on exact, best to measure stock tyres diameter + circumference and get a new set of tyres with exact same dimension. If your car have sufficient clearance I think its better to study tyre charactor/performance/review than to measure it.

The /50 does not mean 50mm, it is the height of the tire expressed as a percentage of its width. So:
195/50 means
Tire width = 195mm
Tire height = 50% x 195 = 97.5mm
In reference to one of the posts, changing from 185 to 195 or vice versa WILL make a difference. A quick mental calculation will show that a 185/50 tire is 'thinner' than a 195/50 tire by approx. 5mm. But you decide whether you mind the small error in your speedo.
Another example: the rolling diameter of 195/55 R15 is almost the same as 205/40 R17 because:
195/55 R15: Diameter = 15+(2x.55x195)/25.4 = 23.44inches
205/40 R17: Diameter = 17+(2x.40x205)/25.4 = 23.46inches
In practice, the actual tire height is less than the theoretical calculation (my actual 205/40 tire was only 60mm tall, not 82mm) but for purposes of interchanging profiles, the theoretical calculations will work. ie you will be able to calculate the height difference between your current and proposed setups to see if the increase is too much.
