Power Steering Pump Failure Rectification

Post by joshua7727 » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:49 am

Hello bros
I just settled the aeroplane metal grinding sound that the ODC had, when i bought it in Feb
Same like all some bros here, it's the power steering problem.
Wanted to go ahead with the repair kit, but my mechanic advised me to change the whole pump as the repair kit, from what i understand, only consists of new rubber seals and etc.

Reason why i changed the whole pump is because we just got the ODC and we won't intend to sell it anytime soon. Thus, just got the change.

Those bros who need to rectify this, and need a workshop to do, please let me recommend you.
The car was in and out in 3 hours (:

Now, NO MORE SOUND! Sounds like how a K24 should be when revved.

Cheers!

I have a funny roaming sound when I turn my steering.
Or when I turn and stop I'm a turning position, when my air-con cut in. This sound will also appear.
Did not feel any loss of steering power.
Do also pm my the workshop and of convenience the cost of repair.

Thank in advance

hi;
i've the same problem for 3 months on the steering wheel and got it fixed one time. It is a coincident to know thru a bro(forum) recommends a workshop in JB.
don't get me wrong, am not connected to the workshop. it has the worst workshop front i ever seen and will not go back for normal maintenance. the workshop owner is knowledgeable and will try to understand the problem to fix it first then to do parts replacement.
go email for [email protected] for the address. by the way, one will have to find your way there and talk to him in person pls. quality & price, it is fair in my opinion.

cheers

I called 1 shop in AMK autopoint to ask. Quoted 280 for repair kit with oil change + labour. Is this fair price?
