Uneven Tyre Wear

Post by mingfk » Tue Jun 21, 2011 8:47 pm

Hi guys,
I need help with some uneven wear on my front left tyre that has been bugging me for quite a while now. the front left tyre outer side always wear out faster. All other 3 tyres are perfectly fine. I tot it was due to balancing or alignment issue and i'd done both but still the same problem surfaced. I'm driving a Accord JDM using 17". Any1 had the same problem and had successfully resolved the issue??? i want to kill off this problem before changing a new set of tyres.

Ya bro. Got to contend with MSCP in both my hdb flat as well as my work place. Is that really the cause of it? It's really annoying cos it'd wear out my outer edge of the tyre in less than 3 months with the rest of the tyre threads still in perfect condition.....

I change to tein coilover for my previous GD1 and went to Kenny for wheel alignment. He advised to install front camber bolt with -1.5deg to minimize front uneven wear especially for MSCP. Probably u can seek advice from him?

I'm using Conti CSC3. Non Rotational tyre so at least I can get to change and rotate all the 4 tyres to the front left everytime when one get wear out.

Solid tyre! Unless i can sort out the uneven tyre wear problem, i'd prob switch to a much cheaper tyres.

I had the same problemw ith my car. The tire shop that I went to told me that this is a common problem. It is always the L front tyre that wears down laterally. He says that it is s function of how we turn right mostly compared to left.
Not very sure how he came to this conclusion

Makes sense but I do not use a MSCP.

Ehh... I've been on Potenza Series tyres Re-001, S001, Re-11. My office is level 5 and have to drive up 5 levels which is very long. Ever tried measuring the distance and its almost 1km from my office to the barrier but i dont face any issues with un-even wear.
