squeaking noise during braking in the morning

Post by tikili » Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:24 pm

hi,

I am having this problem in my ODY. The mileage is about 50km now and I am not sure if the brake pad had been changed before.

In the morning, when I navigate down the multistory carpark, i would hear a squeaking noise during braking.

But then after awhile, while on the road, i do not hear this anymore. During lunchtime, i also do not hear this noise while braking.

what could be the problem?

If yours is a new car then nothing to worry about. It is probably just a slight rust on the surface which will go away after a while. If this is an older car then you may want to bring it to your mechanic to have your brake pad check.

Some performance brake pads squeel when the temp is too low too. That explains the morning syndrome.

Otherwise, if you haven't changed your brake pads for 50k, you might wanna consider doing so already. I believe many bros here change as soon as 40k, maybe even 30k, depending on how wild they drive. :)

yeah, maybe it is time to change the brake pad. I find that my ODY braking (at 90km/h) is a bit sluggish. while braking, i have the feeling that the brake is "sliding".

i am considering NOT to use the stock brake pad and thinking of some other brands of brake pad. After searching thr the forum, there are quite a few. I do not intend to change the rotor (budget, budget!), and i want braking power better than the stock (obvious right!).

Any ODY owners can comment on their OEM brake pad with the original stock rotor performance?

Thanks

I used Forodo before. Lots of brake dust, but feels slightly better than stock.
