Autofoam anyone?

Post by ZakkWylde » Fri Jun 21, 2013 3:33 pm

Anyone tried this before or heard of this product? Very very tempted to try this and hopefully it would further enhance the handling of the car. By the way stiff ring is good stuff for those who are not on it yet. It improves your cars' handling.

Here are the links for autofoam

Might drive up to KL later part of the year to do this up. Hopefully can give my take on this product.
:D

looks good but my car has gone past mid life liao...

A bit not worth it if it cost quite a bit. Looking at the clips, my guess it won't be cheap...

My guess would be RM$800 onwards as they usually comes in a package with soundproofing using stp or premium quality materials. Maybe I drop an email to the boss asking about the pricing...

If got damaged or dented in an accident, can repair?

That's my only concern for this autofoam. Once done, it's irreversible.

Bro, I've done it 3.5 years ago in KL. it's best to strip the car bare. Process takes one day but curing takes 3 days but the they will tell you it takes one day to cure.

I've seen this type of foam while during ns as I was the building ic.
The aircon piping got leak and the repair guy will insert a tip into the aircon pipe n discharge the liquid foam. Once injected n contacted air, it becomes foam.

think the main con is if kena langa, these foam will be everywhere... A mess.
Now the problem is whether the workshop will charge u eextra to clean away the foam so as to do welding & spray painting.

I think you should watch the 3rd part youtube link attached to know how the foam works. It solidifies to become rock hard and will not contain water in case water vapour form up.

what im trying to say is there are welding joints at the internal of the car. These rock hard foam will fill up the internal, maybe covering the welding points. In the event u need to weld or knock back the car body, most probably the rock hard foam u need to remove first, n I guess it will be very hard to remove. Unless the foam makes the car body invincible n doesn't dent when langa.
