Just bought a CL7A

Post by shroomfarmer » Mon Apr 23, 2012 10:06 pm

Hi guys,

I am a new proud owner of a CL7A.

It is a 5 year old beauty and I should be getting the keys from the dealer some time this friday and I have a few questions I was hoping you guys can help me out with.

1) Is there a gps/touch screen ICE player that I can buy to replace the current stock option? the thing is the aircon is integrated with player.

2) If I am new to modifying the car, what are a few simple first steps that I can do to "pimp" up the performance of the car without drastically changing the fuel consumption or engine integrity?

Appreciate the help!

Hi and welcome !

I think there's a ice made in china tho for us. You can find it in eBay I guess.

For performance wise, maybe you can do up intake and exhaust? For better sound. Hard to gain a lot bhp/torque in NA ride.

If my memory didn't fail me, s$400plus, made in china.

Anyway, heard reliability is not so goof.

Welcome to de club

For auto ride, I suggest you stay stock.

Do a search and you'll know.

Agreed...Stay stock for auto.

Good though to change BBK and suspensions. Engine performance wise for auto no big diff n not really worth to do bits here n there.

If you want performance in this car, get the R! :D :D :D

Stock is best for A. The most you can do slight mod is upsizing of rims to 17 inches maximum, ICE and focus more on enhancing the handling like lowering down with good coilovers + camber kits and a good sets of brakes and best not to touch the exhaust
Speed is nothing without control

Welcome TS to the Accord family!

As adviced by most lao Jiao, I also stay stock.

Jus some mod to improve the handling like bigger rims, broader tyres, coilover, struct bar.

Improve ICE. To add on the GPS, you can install a 2 din DVD and add option for GPS.

tks for all the advice. I will do the intelligent thing and listen to the pros and stay stock. the second hand car already came with 17 inch rims that i am already happy with. the suspension that it came with is a new one, quite stiff actually. right now i am just thinking of changing the ice? Also the H on the steering wheel is very faded. want to change. do you think i can get a new one?

Also the ring around the steering wheel is damaged.
