For stock ECU or J's racing, idling after warm up is around 780ish.

This is considered a little on the low side, esp when aircon is on. With this loading and downshifting from a high rpm, the ECU may react too slowly to introduce a bit more fuel to prevent the winding down (stall).

Just use a thicker trans fluid... sure work...
Ex: Honda Civic SiR (EK4) > Hyundai Avante
Current : Honda Accord Euro-R (CL7R) > BMW 328i (F30)

yo thanks! i've been thinking, cos now i think i rmb it happened when i was using engine brake and definitely the rpm is alot higher during engine brake.. and the next thing i do was clutch in and brake cos of junction infront.. i guess its the sudden clutch in during high rpm when engine braking causing rpm to fall super low resulting in stalling?

Btw... Just found another way to easily fix the stalling problem with lightened flywheel... This one is the correct fix, instead of just using a thicker engine oil...

But u will require a tunable ECU
ell, I'm sure some of us has gotten lightweight flywheel and used it, only to find that when braking, the car stalls as the RPM drops below idle.

Some people tried adjusting the idle screw, idling at higher revs, but to no avail.

So what's the trick?

For note to the tuners, it's the IACV duty cycle. Free rev and let it drop.. if you engine dies, increase duty cycle one point at a time. You will notice the revs drops slower each time.

When you get it right, you car will not drop it's revs to the point the engine stalls.

Just thought it might be something of note, since I do notice that some people have this issue with lightweight flywheels
Ex: Honda Civic SiR (EK4) > Hyundai Avante
Current : Honda Accord Euro-R (CL7R) > BMW 328i (F30)

Got directed to this thread by a friend of mine.

I have a similar problem, but after going through all comments & replies, i'm not even sure now if my problem is the same?

It already started the 1st day I collected my ride. while moving off when I already hit about 70-80kmh, my speedo needle just.... dropped like a brick (car still moving).

As quickly as it dropped, it just went back to normal (70-80kmh). This happened several times, like a glitch.

Later I realised the radio would go dead 1st (then comes back on). The speedo needle drop seemed to coincide with the aircon compressor cutting in as well.

Now when it happens, it's like what other bros here are experiencing. Dies when I slow down at junction or making a turn (imagine steering wheel stiffened up with no power steering).

Cannot simulate defect when I go workshop recently (ah Heng at SKM).

Now very scared. But at least it would warn me 1st when it decides to strike, ie kill my audio then return it back to me (but no more speedo needle drop syndrome). Then I would get prepared....

Very uncomfortable, coupled with my creaking seat... Makes my ride tak shiok.
Drink... Drive.
Bloody idiot.

Pix as above is my clutch kit
No issue for donkey years, never did it stall before
A very minor issue, occasionally the car is jerky when moving off from stationary but that can be solve by clutching in longer till the momentum pick up
Open loop tuned but not close loop via HKS Fcon so i dont think the car isnt stalling got anything to do with tunning
Hope my input can help somehow or rather
