Bro, it depends on the weather and whether u have oil cooler and also if u have changed to bigger capacity radiator. Also, your driving style. if constantly on the Vtec range, engine will heat up as well.SpEr37 wrote:Hey brothers,

i have personal opinion about installing low temp themostat. If Honda engineers program the water temp stat to open only at 92deg and not some other lower degrees, they have a reason for that. If anyone can or able to log in their ecu, it will be interesting to see the relationship between engine temp, injector cycle, ign map ARF map..etc your car may not run optimal if you do that.....
The bottom line is this..if you spend majority of your time in high temp region, vtec or not, low stat is just a dirty fix. I would do it right by checking for leaks and/or get a big cap water/oil radiator instead...just me..

ha bro, how's everything? car behaving ok so far? for genting, i believe the air is thinner so naturally car more siong...and did you off the aircon fan too? they play a big part in cooling the system too for low speed travel..also taking this chance to clarify i just tikiam tikiam a number of 92 degrees on stock themostat opening..could be 80, 82 etc i have no clueGymrat76 wrote:I have an oil cooler and I seldom see the oil temp go above 90C, even going 6000+ RPM (vtec on NS highway )
The only time I have seen the oil temp hit around 100C was when I was going up Genting Highlands, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear up the slopes.. using Redline 10w30 oil, btw..

Re: Oil & Water Temperature
It could be due to faulty fan. I'm running on 1 radiator fan and the temp can go up to 100-102 in a jam.
Now waiting for MR to confirm when can I get replacement fan. Meanwhile, I try to cruise whenever possible to keep the water temp low.
