Ahhh.... i thought the piston carbon can be removed by reving hard or things like that, but didn't know SHU engine oil can get into combustion chamber. :shock:

The best excuse is, that wanna use that to check your air con. Idle the engine to check if the idling is okie. Play the music tracks to ensure the CD reader is working fine. :wall: Well, been through that le, when i was a mech... As long as customers can't see what is done, there is nothing we can do.

Hmmm... I am not sure if the ECU has to learn about the oils, but my guess is, it doesn't. My first top up has FC improved instantly though(not the top up straight after leaving KM). The tank i send in with the ride for servicing at KM, always have bad FC. Who knows what they are doing inside withou...

in layman term, the 30,40 thing is the "thickness" of the oil. higher number, thicker, more protection. Synthetic usually more lubricative, thus thinner, thus rated 40, 30, 20. The semi and mineral are usually 50 Generally, small number more lubricative thus lesser protection. Thats why i...

Some information can be gathered, but unfortunately unknown to this never learning advertiser... There is no official specs for "Performance".

So TBN is used to identify how stable the oil is under extreme conditions? or something else? Higher better, or lower better? TBN? Total base number. Some people use TAN to instead though.
