How to improve ODC pickup?

Post by PaPa_H » Mon Aug 22, 2011 1:44 pm

Dear all,

Been driving my ODC for the past 2 weeks and feel 'pickup' is slow... Any ways to inprove its pickup???

My friend told me to change the air filter to K&N open pod, plus dont know what charger for the alterator and stepup voltage device for the spark plugs firing... Are all these stuffs gimmicks? :?

Am not a speed craze but rather prefer a smoother and faster pickup. My understanding is open pod only meant for manual car...

Many thanks!!!

you can try to put the throttle controller to help. The stuff you mentioned will help abit provided you tune the car up. Open pod will make you lose power it it is not properly insulated. Sucking hot air is not a benefit for the car. For NA cars try to suck in colder air. Get a drop in filter instead.

Voltage stabilizer been using if last time.. did not find improvement for what it claimed.

adm electric air charger ? is it those electric fan that helps to suck more air ? If it is then it might it might not be as good.

one of my previous car i tried that. Did lots of test to see if it is really helps, on my car i did the 0 - 100kmh and the 1/4 mile. The performance is lower that without the air charger. Check it our before you buy. That time i still talk to the shop owner on my findings. Think that was why i change to a TC car after that...

There are alot of toys out there that claims to improve performance and so on, do be careful wat u buy.

Yes, the air charger actually block air from flowing in. Not very useful.

hahaha....some just wouldnt listen to fine advice....u know who u are.... :)

Gtech or quarter mile basically give you a very down to earth reading of the improvment. having said that there are many thing you need to take into consideration.... how hot is the ride, road condition, tyres, tyre pressure.....list go on....timing diff a lot for between TC and NA if both car stop to for a while and test the ride.

cheers
