Help Engine Stall

Am driving ES5M. Engine stalled after open vtec. Could only restart car 10 mins later after letting engine cool. What are the possible reasons?

oil pressure zero

fuel injector gone crazy flood and choke engine

engine seize

fuel rail fuel pump kaput - no injection happening when you pass 2,200rpm

solenoid kaput - cannot engage

ECU damaged, missing map after 2,200 rpm

spark plugs fail completely

battery die




the above are all wild guessing going on here... best to take it to your trusted mechanic to find out what's wrong... can even take it back to KM for diagnostics (only) and recommended action... after that you can tow away to your fav garage to do ...

or if you need to get recommendation on which workshops to go, you can try a new workshop at Bedok Industrial Park E behind the Changi Fire Station opened by one of our ES bro called Autosaver at blk 3012. Can't miss it just go around... it's not a big building... ground floor only.

Hey bro thanks for the advice. Thankfully car is behaving normally and Vtec everything seems as per usual. Yester it stalled after I clear carbon at ard 5k rpm over 15 to 20mins. After I restarted it 10 mins later, everything back to normal. Although seems once off, i will go get it thoroughly checked as it may be due to some wear and tear item due for replacing.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it is not ignition coil up lorry as once in a blue moon, it will cough a few times before start up. I changed my iridium spark plugs during last svc. Leaving the possibility of battery, alternator and ignition coil.

It could also be the TDC sensor or the Crack sensor , do check it out.
If u have engine check light , do let ur mechinc take a look at the error code, last time when i kana the crack sensor , my error code is VTEC Maulfunction and it also stalled when ever i hit 5500 rpm and the car just died off.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Strange thing abt my case is CEL never light up. I hit 5000k rpm for over 15 mins, then i slowed down to usual driving for about another 5 mins before engine suddenly cut off without any warning. Before engine cut off no CEL light or strange sound. After i restart 10 mins later also no CEL light. During the 10 mins car could not start up properly, have to use accelerator pedal hold the rpm by revving gently. Once release trottle, rpm drop back to 0 and engine cut off again. Until ard 10 mins later, car started up quite reluctantly. I immediately drove to nearest carpark and off engine and restart again. Car started up normally and behaved as per normal. It has been 2 days since that incident and no issues with the car.

means 'ai pai leow' better go source for a new sensor... sometimes out of stock...

get and replace BOTH... dun save this type of money... labour cost is x2 if you do one at a time... and blardy waste time... it's not so simple as plug and play although it's plug and play... getting access to the sensor is no joke...

I also encounted this before , once i start the engine , than the car died off , than i adjest the throttle cable to keep it higher rpm. Than i drive to my mechic and clean the throttle body , than ok liao.

Think is ard 90+ per sensors, u can refer to the timing belt replacement on the sticky thread for more detail information and photo too.

Ya lor bro , i almost change all the parts of the engine except the block liao ... haik if my engine something wrong , than it is time to change the whole block liao ... sianzzzzz ......
