"Cricket Sound" behind Steering Wheel Area

Post by potateo » Tue Jun 28, 2016 11:19 am

Hi Guys,
recently there is a 'cricket sound" coming from behind my steering wheel area.
Come and go randomly.
Any idea what is it?
Checked but theres no cricket inside =P

Not exactly cricket.

But mine randomly has this ticking sound... seems like coming from inside of the speedo cluster.

Learned to ignore it since half a year more to scrap.

Checked but there's no bomb inside =P

Hi bros,

I have similar sound.

Checked and found out that it was the air conditioning climate gearing.

Hope it helps.

Happy Thursday!

Regards,
Eric =)

Hi Eric

Did you managed to get it fixed?

If so, which workshop and cost? Thanks.

I figured out it has to do with the aircon too.
the ticking sound goes off immediately when i turned e temperature knob lower but the sound will eventually surface again after some time.
hope its not any major issue even though the ticking sound + the boiling sound annoys me at times as i m sensitive to random sound that car makes. =P

Ah yes. I think our problem is the same. That on and off ticking and boiling sound.

It sure can get annoying at times.

Eric and potateo, please update if you managed to get it fixed. Thanks.

Hi bro Joe and Potateo,

My apology for the late reply as I seldom log in SHC.

Anyway the sound is available whenever the climate control needs to adjust temperature that's y when we turn the temperature knob up or down the sound goes off awhile and comes back again.

are u guys scrapping ur cars or going to renew?

I was quoted the climate gearing @ $190 from one of the air con shop at UBI.

Subsequently , you may just disconnect the green cable which is near to your foot rest area.

If you guys wants a pic can just watsapp me at 88288787.

Regards,

Eric
