For me it works great. Once coat of the cleaner and regular coats of the protectant would maintain the condition of the top.
I feel that the Ragg top is aimed at maintaining the condition of the top like leather conditioners.

Heard of the 303 before and many people swear by that too so I guess its worth a try.

As for the dark coating used by the Beamers, I think the top of the beamers are Fabric tops while the s2k is a vinyl top. Hence the effect of the protectant would differ. I haven heard of any adverse reaction if you use a fabric top protectant on a vinyl top so i guess its one of those marketing gimmicks to disect the consumer buying behavior ;p
Most BMW soft top is vinyl.

Anyway, some of the list of different materials in different makes as a guide. Need to check whether the roof is stock or has been replaced before before.

DO NOT USE CANVAS PROTECTION ON VINYL TOP!

What happens if you use canvas protection on vinyl?

Recently i just bought a soft top impregnating agent from BMW. However now they only sell the spray on type. I wonder if it will work well for our roof. Some of my concerns are will the particles get attracted the our atomised paint work, and will any uneven patches be very obvious. This is because i have tried spray out some of the impregnating agent and it is white and it left behind masked finishing after dried up.
Anyone have any experience and advise to share with my please?

Maybe you can use masking tape and newspaper like the spray painters
and car groomers when they polish cars :)

I'm using the SONAX Cabriolet top waterproofer.. Available at any Carrefour in Singpore, Autobacs Singapore also. Autobacs also carries a similar cabriolet waterproofing product of another brand which i forgot.
I don't know why there are no Cabriolet products available in Malaysia, considering there are so many Z4s running around.

Works well, and waterproofs the entire canvas.
I've been careful not to let it touch the paint and rubber though.

For the rubber trimming, I've been using all various rubber treatment products, including a silicone spray supposedly for my Scuba Wetsuit.

Soax Waterproofing works rather well. Water beads off the cabriolet top.

Another product i've used before is the Timberland Leather Balm waterproofer. Works well too!

use a soaked tissue to soften the poop, then remove the tissue and then use a old tooth brush to brush on it and same time pour water on it, that should work

Diggin up an old thread.

I found this soft top protector called Vinylex. Like 303, you can use it for the interior as well with uv protection. It's got rave reviews on various s2k forums in the US as well as other non-s2k forums. It's available locally by mail order and service is good. They also stock lexol for leather. It's another favourite in the US.

To wash the softop I use the 303 cleaner.

So far the top looms really black

I just applied Sonax Soft top and water proof impregnation solution using a sponge but some of it dripped onto the car windows and body paint. There are stains which unfortunately will not come off.

Does anyone know what I can use to remove them? Water and soap don't work. :(

Try a rubbing compound to see if it comes off.

Hi sorry to hijack your thread. I'm not an s2k owner but I need some advice on soft top maintenance. I'm driving a honda beat and my current top is abt 7yrs old, changed by the previous owner. Whenever it rains heavily, water will seep through the rubber trimmings into the side of the windows. Wonder if any bros here encountered the same issue?
