How many km can u go for a full tank
How many km can u go for a full tank
Hello ODC owners
I had Owned my 06 RB1 since end Dec 11 and have been enjoying the ride so far.
Problem is the fuel consumption, my full tank can only go 370km n the fuel indicator light up, is it normal???
FC is so high as compare to my previos civic ES5, only lite up when hit 520km.
It is big difference between the 2 taking into consideration on fuel tank size.
Btw, hw big is RB1 fuel tank? 65l?

370km? Omg
370km, is very low.
If from light up. Normally u can pump up to 50 litre
That mean u only get ard 7l/litre.
U might want to check ur fuel line system. Unless u are. Heavy footer. Change gear at 5k rpm

When you Dive, You cant Drive.
450 when doing mostly city driving. 480-500 when cruising mostly highways.
Maybe it is the thickness of the oil and that sparks are worn?
I use redline 0-30 and just changed my iridium plugs although can still use for 30,000 more.
Tyre pressure too low? Supposed to be 220 front and 240 rear...
Too hard on the acceleration? Ody is not a civic for sure unless you can stomach bad consumption figures.
Battery weak?

Haha,,, i get about 350km on a full thank and i thought i was the only one.
I believe the size of the rims play a big part as well.
I'm assuming you are also on 19" as well?

Thanks for all the reply!
U all are really great! Can go more than 450km!!!
My FC is abt 7.2km/l. I pump 58l when travel 412km.
I am on 17", nt 19".
I am definitely not a heavy footer as my pickup even lose to 1.4cc vehicles at traffic light.
I dun speed as well as most of the time ppl overtaking me on expressway.
Mainly use by my wife to fetch kids to and fro school.
Only weekend travel on expressway.
I didn't check on my engine oil and tyre pressure.
I tink I shld check on it and see how my FC goes.
Thank you for all the feedback.

Fuel Consumption
I think the rims size and driving pattern plays a big part. Just to share my experience so far:
on 16" stock rims: 550km
on 18" Wedsports rims: 480km
on 19" SSR rims: 440km
One trick I found effective was to try to reach the target speed, say 70km/h and then release the pedal and you will see the fuel consumption meter move upwards to the 10km+ range, then just moderate and tap along the way.
Interestingly, I felt most comfort feel when on 19" rims though, and the size is also closer to the technically correct diameter compared to 16" or 18" combinations.
