haha! Sounds like a warzone there on India's roads! Guess we really have to appreciate what we have on our roads now, unless we start comparing them to Australia's or even KL's. Think many of our drivers got a lot to catch up on...siewss wrote:My India trip's not too bad, actually. It was an eye opener. The way they drive and incessant sounding of horn, the locals are really daytona drivers in disguise. They don't signal, swerve in and out between cars and trucks and buses (not to mention bullock, donkey and camel carts), ride in the center of 2 lanes, tailgate, brake/swerve/turn at the last minute, and the famous flashing of headlights and horning - All these will make our Singaporean drivers very tame by any yardstick. To think that we always complain about our cabbies. I tell you, driving in India will raise our blood pressure many mmHg. For your post-grad holidays, pls avoid India. US may be a good idea, if the exchange rate is around 1.67. Euro and Aussie's
pretty high, so our Sing dollar won't go very far.
Oh, I wouldn't blame it on luck. I should have seen it coming because I had this nagging feeling prices may drop further. I didn't bother attributing my feelings to any potential policy changes, hence my situation. I think I mentioned earlier I set a goal to make my purchase only when the COE goes below S$20k, but I went against my better judgement. Anyway, the price has crept up to S$101.5k with the recent increase in COE, but I'm not sure if the price will continue to sustain at that level.
Are you also trying out jobs in your area of specialisation? Joining the car industries' good, but exposure to different industries will put you in better stead for the future. Make sure you you join the dealership that sells the brand you like. Perhaps you can extend your staff rate to me as well, haha!
Sure, lunch sounds like a good idea. Will let you know when the car arrives. I was persuaded to go for the frontlip for an additional S$600. My SE says it's a bargain. I'm still half decided because S$600 is no small bean for plastics. I think I'll be much better off with v-kool or huperoptik for that money.
I have actually shortlisted Tokyo, Perth, Cairns and Melbourne. But because of bird flu, I reckon Tokyo will be dropped out of our list. So that leaves the Australian states. I really missed the holidays I had in Gold Coast and Sydney.
I'm keeping my options opened to jobs within my area of studies too, though my priorities will be on the automotive industry. However, i also realise the downsides of staying out of the real estate industry for too long a period. But well, I hope I can carve out something for myself, good enough to have me remain close to my interests.
I think $600 is a rather high price to pay, considering it should be made in thailand, and respraying a piece of small plastics shouldn't take more than $200. KM is asking for the sky once again. Why don't you try checking with Tanly Motors? They do bring in accessories, and you can approach a spray paint shop that you know.
