Tyre Life

Hi,

This might be an old topic or discussed before. Anyway, quite difficult to dig out those old tread/posts.

I think most tyre life span is 5 years while in-storage, in-use is roughly 2 years/60,000 Km.

6 months ago, I bought an old set of 4 years old tyres ( storage). Last week, the rear left tyre was found flat as I noticed some kind of strange noise coming from the rear left, luckily i stopped and checked, there was no visibility of puncture mark but the inner tyre sidewall has a "cut"/"ruptured". I am not sure is it due to running over road pothole ( nowadays the road are full of potholes here and there - its very dangerous especially for motor cyclist and raining day all cover with water)

Or it is my tyre is aging liao.

best not to use 4 years old tyres, in my opinion, quite dangerous, as rubber might have hardened! drive safe!
